The Brief

To review the suggested interventions put forward by The Recognised Tenants Association (RTA) of the Barbican Residential Estate and undertake a high-level cost benefit analysis of the potential carbon and energy savings along with general investigations into the effectiveness of the measures.

The Solution

Use Dynamic Simulation Modelling (DSM) to estimate each intervention and its associated cost saving, kWh saving, and CO2 reduction.

The Result

The DSM modelling created 7,680 iterations of the dwelling types based on various retrofit interventions such as soffit & insulation as well as ventilation and heating improvements.
